The disease did not have any ICD-10 code assigned to it, and the client did not have an estimate of the eligible patient pool in the U.S. It was essential for the client to accurately estimate the patient population to determine product-supply projections and appropriate route to market. The IZE Patient Finder solution from Analytical Wizards is able to mine data from unstructured clinical notes using natural language processing and develop the appropriate query elements for claims data. This, along with AI/ML predictive analytic modeling, allowed Analytical Wizards to size the market and estimate key stakeholders along the Patient Journey. These insights helped the client successfully establish its launch plans ahead of market entry.

Similarly, to illustrate the trial accelerator module, Sharma mentions how Analytical Wizards partnered with a clinical operations team to predict which investigators and sites would be the fastest in enrolling patients for Phase II and Phase III trials. This was achieved by mining data from several sources such as medical claims, pharmacy claims, lab data, EMR data, clinical trial data, and publicly available data sources such as clinicaltrials.gov and CMS open payments. Analytical Wizards also considered historical performance to evaluate whether similar trials have been performed before and if patients were recruited successfully. Finally, a sample dashboard was developed for the clinical operations team to help them garner investigators insights using a data-driven approach.
