Spearheading the Pharmacy Software Landscape

With an aim to become a software powerhouse for pharmacies in the UK, Dataplast provides software solutions to community pharmacies and other SMB players in the market. “While being the reference of software solution for pharmacies, we want to respond to as many processes in the community pharmacy as possible,” asserts Amarandei.

Primarily, Dataplast brings two core offerings to the market: Dataplast Navigator and Dataplast Warehouse management. While the former is a NEXT-GEN purchase and stock management solution for pharmacies, the latter helps pharmacy groups and medicine wholesalers to manage their warehouses effectively. Dataplast Navigator is used for cascading and flow control, increasing the margin, improving the ordering compliance, and preventing ordering products with the price over the drug tariff.

Built by the prowess of cutting-edge technology that significantly increases the medicine warehouse’s speed and accuracy, Dataplast Warehouse management improves productivity and reduces labor costs. It is also capable of receiving electronic orders from the pharmacy PMRs or Dataplast Navigator.

Apart from such extensive features, the software also helps the customers with stock decisions, stock management, and transfer management between the branches. The solution is well-built to meet the bespoke needs of the clients. For example, they can also manage the credit notes or transfers to manage the slow movers. One of the core values of the company is that it is independent, not affiliated to any of the suppliers in the market. Dataplast Navigator acts as a conduit between the pharmacy and suppliers while ensuring the products are ordered in a cost-effective manner. To illustrate, Amarandei says, “We don’t intervene on any steps to negotiate the price list on behalf of the customer. It is our solution that gives customers the power to negotiate.”

Continue providing such solution to its customers in the future, Amarandei aspires to bring in more software solutions to broaden the functional scope of the community industry. The company is planning to introduce its third product—as electronic POS for the pharmacy—in the first quarter of 2021. Dataplast is also looking forward to helping pharmacies improve business communication between branches, set targets, and achieve results. This will be addressed by designing dashboards for clients through which they can see and access all the relevant information. Some of the other projects in the company’s development pipeline are a customer management solution aiming to better retain the patients, a Delivery software capable of real-time tracking of home deliveries, and an Intranet software for groups that will be used for reporting and will contain an electronic Timesheet function.” We will continue to introduce more innovative solutions to the pharma industry that will help our clients tackle their challenges.
