THANK YOU FOR SUBSCRIBING

Robby Booth, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer, GlytecFully integrated with the EHR and grounded in rigorous clinical evidence, Glytec embeds intelligent insulin management directly into clinical workflows. It equips care teams with real-time personalized decision support at the point of care, helping them act faster, reduce variability, and improve safety across the inpatient journey.
“Our goal has always been to bring safety, precision, and real-time decision support to one of the most under-managed and dangerous therapies in the hospital,” says Robby Booth, co-founder and chief strategy officer.
This impact is driven by two powerful tools at the heart of the platform: Glucommander®, the insulin dosing software trusted by hospitals nationwide, and the Glytec Command Center, a first-of-its-kind, AI-powered intelligence and coordination layer for glycemic management.
Supporting this technology is a robust partnership model built for long-term impact. Hospitals benefit from a scalable support system that includes 24/7 U.S.-based clinical and technical assistance, expert-led implementation, ongoing training and a structured approach to quality improvement. Backed by more than 100 patents, hundreds of scientific publications, and decades of hands-on experience, Glytec offers both the validation and expertise hospitals need to drive lasting change.

Scaling Safer Diabetes Care
Although nearly 40 percent of hospitalized patients require insulin, which is one of the highest-risk medications in hospitals, many care teams still rely on outdated protocols and fragmented workflows. Too often, people living with diabetes share troubling stories from hospital stays—a missed insulin dose, a blood sugar crash no one caught, or a complication that could have been avoided.
In response to these growing challenges and regulatory pressures, Glytec equips hospitals with tools that identify risks early and intervene with confidence.
Central to this capability is Glucommander®, which uses historical and real-time patient data to deliver personalized insulin dosing recommendations. It is available in two configurations. Glucommander IV is used to manage intravenous insulin infusions in critical care settings, such as the ICU or during diabetic ketoacidosis. Glucommander SubQ supports subcutaneous insulin dosing for patients in general medical-surgical units and other noncritical settings.
One example of Glucommander’s real-world impact comes from Genesis HealthCare System in Ohio. After implementing Glucommander IV and SubQ, the organization saw a 63 percent reduction in overall hypoglycemia and a 95 percent reduction in severe hypoglycemia. Within a year, it avoided nearly $500,000 in costs and significantly improved safety across its inpatient population.
Hospitals have also leveraged it to rethink traditional roles and workflows. At Texas Health Huguley Hospital, a pharmacyled model was developed to guide insulin management. Pharmacists initiated the majority of insulin dosing protocols using Glucommander orders, took the lead in ICU glycemic management, and helped drive consistent use of evidence-based protocols. The result was better collaboration across clinical teams and improved glycemic outcomes.
Amplifying this impact beyond the bedside is the Glytec Command Center. It provides real-time glycemic insights, rounding support, discharge readiness cues, and patient-level performance metrics that reflect how individuals are responding to treatment. For large health systems, Command Center Enterprise adds benchmarking, predictive analytics and system-wide monitoring to support ongoing quality improvement.
Building on this rock-solid foundation of proven impact, Glytec has become the trusted partner for hospitals seeking to modernize diabetes care.
