Modernizing IT Infrastructure to Optimize Imaging Informatics

The synergy of IT and healthcare brought unique opportunities for CIOs and medical officers to distinguish the signal from noise surrounding the healthcare industry. “We have a radiology information system that is deployed through the cloud, which can support multiple processes irrespective of the organization’s size,” says Dagan. Likewise, IDS’s clinical data repository (CDR) allows imaging centers, radiologists and their referring physicians to share real-time and historical results as well as provide for collaboration tools to improve their communications. The company’s DICOM Image Viewer is an eminent part of its CDR that ties into the whole workflow of radiology. “The DICOM Image Viewer allows users to access and view results and the corresponding diagnostic images, and share them with specialists and primary care physicians. The latest version of this solution, HTML5, allows radiologists to share these images with physicians and patients across all desktops, tablets and mobile devices,” says Dagan.

The next module in line is the Voice2Dox application that is a speech recognition platform for documenting radiology interpretation. Another branch of AbbaDox is a comprehensive document and forms management platform which automates the process of patient scheduling and registration. The radiology industry had a much simpler framework a decade ago, due to the absence of disruptive trends and players to innovate. “Today, the market has also changed. The demands for better service level, needs, methodologies, have taken a drastic change in their trajectories,” highlights Dagan.
