According to several studies 30% of US citizens do not have dental insurance, of those 77 million many avoid care due to fear of cost. In light of this, many practices are establishing in-house membership plans to make dental care more accessible for uninsured individuals.

Kleer assists dental practices to develop industry-leading membership solutions using its proprietary, cloud-based platform. It enables dentists to easily design and implement care plans and offer them directly to patients.

“The Kleer platform increases patient visits, improves treatment acceptance, and enhances the overall value of a practice while providing uninsured patients with the affordable dental care they want and need,” says Dave Monahan, CEO and founder of Kleer.

Using its turnkey and easy-to-use platform, dental plans can be designed and launched in under 15 minutes. Patients can quickly enroll via the practice’s front desk or website, and access the details of their plan in the Kleer Patient Portal.

On average, a dental practice spends $300 per patient on marketing initiatives. Although this works to attract a greater volume of new patients, retaining these patients only has a 40 percent success rate. Meaning a lot of money is spent getting them in the door, but the majority discontinue care following their initial visit. Since first-time dental appointments often don’t involve any treatment outside of hygiene, dentists are spending more to attract patients with a significantly lower lifetime value.

Offering an annual subscription based membership plan that includes routine preventive care and treatment savings, ensures the return of new customers. Instead of having them walk out the door and never be seen again, engaging them early on with Kleer helps improve patient loyalty.

Additionally, most dental practices rely on dental insurance, with up to 75 percent of incoming patients using insurance to pay for their treatment. This, combined with the typical dental insurance discount of 40 percent, makes it challenging for dentists to turn a profit. Shifting this paradigm, Kleer assists practices in cutting out the insurance intermediary that creates a barrier to care.

“Membership plans engage patients on a deeper level,” says Monahan.

“Looking at a patient that has a membership plan versus a patient who is uninsured, the membership plan patient is going to come into the office two to three times more often, they’re going to accept twice the amount of care, and they’re going to drive two to three times more revenue for the practice.”

This reliable, recurring revenue supports practices as they transition PPOs out of their office. At the same time, it also provides a great alternative to patients whose insurance they no longer accept. Therefore, they can become a better performing practice, get better results, and reduce their dependence on insurance.

Kleer’s ability to create custom membership programs for each practice gives the platform a competitive edge over its market contemporaries. Beginning with the consultation, Kleer works to determine the patient demographics, practice economics, and membership plan goals before designing a plan tailored to the practice.

This customization allows Kleer to support independent practices and dental service organizations (DSOs) operating across hundreds of locations. For clients with vast footprints and individualized local care plan needs, it creates a common framework that they can use for granular progress tracking. They can view performance across all implemented programs under a single pane of glass and dive down for further analysis by region.

Beyond customization, Kleer automates time-consuming tasks through a practice portal where dentists and front office managers can log in and view patients who have signed up for their plans. It also equips them with reports and dashboards that update in real-time to showcase current performance metrics and help flag down sources of inefficiencies.

In addition, the platform seamlessly integrates with practice management systems to drive quick and secure transactions powered by automated enrollment and autorenewal processes. It also offers marketing campaigns to promote membership plans before patients enter a dentist's office. This presentation capability lies at the heart of Kleer’s ever-increasing membership enrollment rate.

Emphasizing excellent customer satisfaction and supporting dental practices to boost their revenue, Kleer’s plan creation and implementation capabilities are free. It only charges clients based on the number of patients using the platform. Driven by these competencies, Kleer remains a prominent player in the dental membership plan management domain, relieving practitioners and patients of insurance and cost burdens to facilitate accessible and affordable care.
