IRVING, TEXAS --- Several oral and maxillofacial surgeons have joined U.S. Oral Surgery Management (USOSM) partner practices this month. They include: Reed Turpin, DDS; Jassel Fernandez, DDS; Tyler Hill, DDS; Sandy Ha, DDS, MD; and Jacob T. Taylor, DMD, MD.
About the surgeons:
Reed Turpin has joined the Center for Oral, Facial & Implant Surgery as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. The Center for Oral, Facial & Implant Surgery has locations in Chattanooga and Cleveland, Tennessee, as well as Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. Dr. Turpin provides a full scope of OMS services and is accepting new patients in all three locations.

A native of the Chattanooga area, Dr. Turpin grew up in Cleveland, Tennessee, where he graduated from the McCallie School in 2012. Afterward, he attended The University of Tennessee Knoxville, graduating with the highest honors and a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and cellular and molecular biology.
Dr. Turpin graduated valedictorian from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry in Memphis and completed his OMS residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. During his residency, he received extensive surgical training at the highest volume hospital in the state.
Jassel Fernandez has joined Austin Oral Surgery, an OMS practice with 12 locations in Central Texas. Dr. Fernandez will primarily treat patients at the Temple office and is currently accepting new patients there.
Dr. Fernandez practices a full scope of OMS, with a particular interest in dental implants, including full mouth reconstruction with zygomatic implants and corrective jaw surgery for complex dental-skeletal deformities. Born in Costa Rica and raised in Nicaragua, Dr. Fernandez is fluent in both English and Spanish.
After completing his undergraduate studies at Universidad Americana in Nicaragua, Dr. Fernandez continued his education in the United States, earning his DDS from the University of California, Los Angeles. Afterward, Dr. Fernandez was accepted into the prestigious OMS residency program through Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, where he served as chief resident.
Tyler Hill has joined Oyster Point Oral & Facial Surgery in Newport News, Virginia. Dr. Hill is trained in the full scope of OMS, from exodontia to cancer resection and reconstruction and everything in between. He has particular medical interests in dentoalveolar and implant surgery, benign pathology and reconstruction, and orthognathic and trauma surgeries.
The son of an orthodontist, Dr. Hill planned to join his father’s practice before discovering a passion for surgery during college. Dr. Hill earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science with a minor in chemistry from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he also competed as a division 1 swimming athlete.
After that, he earned his DDS at The University of North Carolina School of Dentistry and a certificate in oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMS) at Virginia Commonwealth University. In addition, he completed a comprehensive OMS residency at The University of Texas at Houston Health Science Center.
Sandy Ha has joined Stonebriar Facial and Oral Surgery, which is located in Frisco, Texas. Dr. Ha will treat patients in Frisco and at the new McKinney location, which is slated to open this fall at 2164 N. Lake Forest Drive, Ste. 712.
Dr. Ha earned her bachelor’s degree in public health at the University of California, Berkeley and her DDS from the University of California Los Angeles School of Dentistry. Afterward, she earned her MD at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine and completed her OMS residency through the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
During her residency, Dr. Ha received extensive experience in dentoalveolar surgery, office based IV anesthesia, bone grafting, implant reconstruction services, free flap based dental implant placement, facial trauma, orthognathic surgery, TMJ surgery, management of benign and malignant pathology and more.
Dr. Ha is certified in pediatric advanced life support, advanced trauma life support, advanced cardiac life support and basic life support. She is a member of a number of professional organizations and has published research articles on a variety of OMS-related topics, such as cleft palate treatment, orthodontic and craniofacial research, and dental management of hypertensive and diabetic patients by general dentists.
Jacob T. Taylor has joined the Center for Oral & Facial Surgery, the oldest and largest OMS practice in San Diego County. The practice has two offices. One in San Diego and one in El Cajon, California. Dr. Taylor is accepting new patients at both locations.
Dr. Taylor earned his bachelor’s degree in basic medical science with a minor in music from Washington State University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He earned his DMD from Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he received numerous awards for clinical excellence. Dr. Taylor continued his education with a prestigious OMS residency at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
During his residency, he received extensive training in a wide variety of oral and maxillofacial procedures, particularly wisdom teeth extractions, dental implants, complex bone grafting procedures, benign pathology treatments and orthognathic surgery. Throughout his residency, Dr. Taylor completed numerous rotations within different medical and surgical specialties that have aided him in his ability to treat medically complex patients.
Dr. Taylor earned his MD from the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, one of the world’s premier research and educational institutions. During the program, he also completed a one-year internship in general surgery. Dr. Taylor received additional training in general anesthesia at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center for a wide variety of surgical procedures.
