MediSked: Future-Ready Solutions for Long Term Services and Support
Doug Golub, President and co-founder, MediSked
Home and community-based services (HCBS) have undergone a major revamp in the past two decades, putting great emphasis on long-term healthcare services. Nearly 2 million people in the American population need these services, demanding industry leaders in this sector to leverage technology solutions that can better facilitate care management, service delivery, and outcomes realization.
To that end, MediSked, LLC is a trusted technology partner in the long-term care space, delivering comprehensive Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions via a person-centered technology model which can assist organizations across the home and community-based services industry. Founded in 2003, MediSked, LLC has partnered with health & human services organizations across the country, with direct regulatory experience in 39 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia and users and supported individuals across all 50 states. The company provides solutions for provider agencies, care coordination organizations, and payers, as well as government and oversight organizations in the HCBS and long-term services and support (LTSS) field. “It is MediSked’s mission to improve lives, drive efficiencies, and generate innovations by fostering collaborative partnerships with clients including care management entities and organizations that support intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), behavioral health, aging, substance use disorder, brain injuries, addiction and individuals on Medicaid waivers,” says Doug Golub, president and co-founder of MediSked. The common consensus among all these clients is that MediSked’s software solutions support and improve workflows and data collection and evolve with regulatory changes so they can be used on a daily basis. With their vast experience and technical expertise, MediSked has improved lives, created innovations, and generated efficiencies for health and human service organizations as a leading brand in holistic LTSS solutions. Their feature-rich software solutions are hassle-free, easy to consolidate, and highly customizable, each serving a specific requirement in the LTSS space.
One of these demands that most companies find difficult to deal with is complex care management. Here, MediSked offers its proprietary care management tool, MediSked Coordinate, which can simplify those activities by streamlining the process of care management by centralizing planning, service authorization, record management, and documentation. Additionally, MediSked Connect is another tool in their suite that helps in centralizing and managing information and service delivery across provider agencies. The solution provides agency management tools, supports claims & billing, and has integrated Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) & Mobile capabilities.

This ensures that staff time is focused where it belongs—on improving the lives of individuals. Furthermore, in today’s digital healthcare datascape, data transparency plays a vital role in the relationship between companies. Managing a client’s data is a crucial trust point in a business relationship, which is where MediSked’s third tool, MediSked Connect Exchange, comes in, providing clients with reporting tools that can perform population tracking and implement quality measures, while providing data warehousing and integrations.
MediSked was the first provider to introduce a secure tool specific to HCBS and LTSS programs for team and individual collaboration with their MediSked Portal. This platform is person-centered and was launched for individuals and their circles of support to communicate, collaborate, and deliver vital information across teams. When combined with MediSked Connect, MediSked Portal empowers the individual with tools and resources that enable them to engage with their support groups.
Given their immense utility, it is easy to see why the MediSked team has received so many accolades from their clients for all the support and promise they deliver. The industry has recognized the company for driving efficiencies and sharing a vision-driven, passionate, and innovative community-connected engagement. In 2020, MediSked earned the #4 spot on the Rochester Chamber Top 100 list of fastest-growing, privately-owned companies in the Rochester and Finger Lakes region. In 2017, they featured #16 in the list of Best Companies to Work for in New York State.
There have been many important milestones to better support and empower people with disabilities, from even before the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act in 1990 to Olmstead v. L.C. in 1999, and beyond, to help provide service options to people with disabilities. MediSked is committed to making a positive impact on the industry through the use of data. MediSked compiled COVID-19 data from 1,069 individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) from Connecticut and North Carolina to view mortality and vaccination trends in comparison with the general population. The data showed that in a population of 1,069 individuals with IDD, 12 died from COVID-19. Nearly 92 percent were either 65+ years of age or had one or more risk factors in addition to IDD. MediSked also found an uptick in vaccinations post August 2021, due to the rise in cases owing to the delta variant. Needless to say, the HCBS industry has seen a significant demand for expansion and automation. MediSked has been striving to improve lives, drive efficiencies, improve outcomes, and build up cost efficacy. As Golub concludes, “We are a brand that you can count on for the future.”
