It also facilitates normothermic regional perfusion (NRP) services and the transport of whole-body donors for tissue and organ recovery. One of NORA’s most innovative solutions is our line of custom-built vehicles, specifically designed to address the unique challenges of donor transportation in this specialized area of medicine. NORA offers two tailored solutions to meet these needs.

Its state-of-the-art Tissue Donor Transport Vehicles are equipped with commercialgrade refrigeration units that maintain a consistent morgue temperature, helping to extend ischemic times and improve the viability of recovered tissues. The interior features high safety and hygiene standards, including hospital-grade, easy-to-disinfect surfaces and a sealed patient care compartment to reduce contamination risks. With all-wheel-drive (AWD) capabilities, these vehicles can handle challenging weather conditions, ensuring that critical cargo reaches its destination safely and promptly.

Additionally, NORA recently launched the Organ Donor Transport Vehicle (DTV)—a custom-designed vehicle developed for transporting medically complex, braindead organ donors. Traditionally, Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs) relied on local EMS or hospital-based ambulances for these transports, often resulting in delays and diverting essential resources from the community.

NORA’s DTVs are equipped with advanced medical devices, including a Stryker power cot, Lucas Chest Compression Device, and a transport ventilator, ensuring safe and efficient donor transport without relying on local emergency services. This new offering enhances OPO operational efficiency and helps keep community resources available for those in urgent need.
