The QluPod app allows patients to consult with doctors at any time, which proves invaluable when their regular physician is unavailable. Users can use the app’s feature to choose a doctor who speaks their language, enhancing the communication and effectiveness of consultations. While consulting with a doctor outside one’s country may incur additional costs not covered by insurance, immediate access to healthcare advice through the app can prevent unnecessary emergency room visits. Currently, QluPod’s glucose monitoring feature is available only in some European countries due to regulatory hurdles. In regions where this feature is restricted, the device is marketed as a 5-in-1 tool rather than a 6-in-1.

The free version of the QluPod app is available on the Apple Store and Google Play Store, offering basic functionalities such as measuring and recording health metrics. The PRO version, currently under development and slated for release in July this year, garnered attention during its testing phase in Dubai, where it was awarded for its innovative features. This upcoming version will provide comprehensive tools tailored for doctors and patients, including detailed health statistics, a pill reminder that alerts users to take their medication and much more.

Further enhancing the user experience, the PRO version will support holistic health journeys with lifestyle programs and access to physicians, nutritionists and personal trainers. The app will also feature a panic button for immediate emergency assistance, offering a robust tool for managing health and enhancing patient care without physical doctor visits.

At the Future Innovation Summit in Dubai, QluPod presented its prototype app and was recognised as the best telemedicine app of 2023, with an official launch expected in 2024. This accolade was earned due to the unique combination of features currently unavailable in the market. Unlike most telemedicine apps, which primarily provide consultancy services, QluPod integrates real-time patient data, allowing doctors to make informed decisions based on accurate information rather than solely relying on patient descriptions.

In countries such as Germany, Switzerland and Austria, where specific insurance plans require patients to obtain approval from a call centre before accessing medical care, the QluPod could facilitate more informed decisions, which is advantageous for insurance plans requiring pre-approval. This initiative aims not just to control costs for insurance and patients but to make long-term treatments more affordable.
