In 2018, at Cerner Corporation, which is now acquired by Oracle, Osborn won their code app challenge by integrating their EHR with his wearable device. He has named the company after a famous British Caribbean nurse named Mary Seacole to represent nurses of color at the frontline of care.

seeCOLe has an automated integration that transcribes all the information in the EHR and displays those details in real-time.

The application also comprises a unique Telehealth feature that can help healthcare facilities lacking any medical personnel connect with an expert far away. They can access real time feed through the camera within the wearable glass and converse verbally with patients or clinicians.

Medical staff can also capture images of the patient and embed them into the EHR. seeCOLe has also implemented artificial intelligence to understand a patient’s medical issue and provide a first-hand probable diagnosis based on the patients’ verbal statements regarding their health conditions. Clinicians owning separate wearable glasses and not utilizing the same devices in a medical center also reduces cross-contamination, which is highly significant in today’s pandemic struck era. It reduces significant costs by eliminating transcribers and clinicians’ physical burnout by empowering them to interact with the EHR easily and using it as a valid tool while assessing a patient.

seeCOLe’s chief medical officer engages with clinicians and provides them with a demonstration of the application. For instance, surgeons at Oxford Health utilized seeCOLe and realized that they spent significantly more time focusing on the procedure and obtained clinical data on the go. There is zero installation and the team provides 24/7 support. After raising a ticket through the company’s website, users typically receive response within 15-30 minutes. The glasses are rechargeable and have a run time of up to 8-9 hours, and through the network of a healthcare system or Wi-Fi, clinicians can stay engaged with the EHR. They can also replace the glasses with their prescription lenses.

The company will be showcasing its app at the upcoming HLTH conference in November 2022 alongside WELLNESSWITS and TYDEi, bolstering the future of healthcare with AI, blockchain, and smart contracts. seeCOLe is currently exploring integration with third party EHR such as Allscripts and e-clinical work.
